Ecotest Multi-Drug Test Pen

Multiple Drugs Saliva Test Kit

The Multiple Drugs Saliva Test Kit is an in-vitro immunoassay designed to detect drugs of abuse in oral fluid samples, delivering results in 10 minutes.

Unique pen design for point of care

The Multiple Drugs Saliva Test Kit is ideal for rapid, simultaneous testing of drugs of abuse: a single fluid sample is able to generate test results against a testing menu of multiple drugs at once. Founded on the principle of competitive binding, the test detects drugs that may be present in the oral fluid specimen as they compete against their respective drug conjugate for binding sites on their specific antibody, generating a result via the visual interpretation of colour development on a sample strip.

Fast and easy to use in any setting

Made to be non-invasive and easy to administer, the Ecotest Multi Drug Test's two-step design makes it highly efficient and effective for professional medical or clinical usage. Test by swabbing the patient's mouth, then placing the pen into its buffer cap, and reading results in 10 minutes. No need for multiple individual drug tests, extra components, or mixing reagents: it’s as easy as that.

Biolink can help your business save money and time with our range of rapid antigen tests.

Two-step procedure

STEP 1. Remove the protector and swab the oral collector against the inside of your mouth and over your tongue, for two minutes.

STEP 2. Place the test device vertically into the tube with the extraction buffer. Ensure the top of the base aligns to the middle of the supporting line.

NOTE: Wait 10 minutes, then check your results. Do not read results after 30 minutes, as they will be invalid.

More details

How it works

The Multiple Drugs Saliva Test Kit detects the presence of drugs of abuse in saliva fluid. During testing, the oral fluid specimen migrates upward along the testing strip. If a drug is present in the fluid specimen below its cut-off concentration, it won't saturate the binding sites of its specific antibody, causing a visible coloured line to appear in the test region (T). The presence of a drug above the cut-off concentration in the fluid specimen will saturate all binding sites of the antibody, causing a coloured line not to form in the T region.

Interpreting results

A positive result indicates the presence of a drug/metabolite, but does not indicate or measure level of intoxication. A negative result does not rule out the presence of drugs/metabolites in saliva, as they may be present below the minimum detection level of the test. Please note that this test does not distinguish between drugs of abuse and certain medications. As a procedural control, a coloured line should always appear in the control region (C), indicating the proper volume of specimen has been added; if no line appears, the result is invalid and should be repeated with a new test.

Precautions for use

The test is intended for professional in-vitro diagnostic use only. The test provides a preliminary analytical test result only. A more specific alternative chemical method must be used to obtain a confirmed analytical result. Gas chromatography/ mass spectrometry (GC/MS) has been established as the preferred confirmatory method by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).
